We stumbled across this fantastic place on our recent family Vacay to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It was the best surprise! You basically pay a set amount at the door, per person. In July of 2023, it was $12.95. Then, you can go in and play over 100 arcade games and pinball machines for free! They even have Skee Ball games! My family had the BEST time! They have a menu for food items, but we weren’t hungry yet when we visited. Their menu consists mostly of mini pizzas and panini style sandwiches.
This place also had the best outdoor seating. I’m sure it helps being located in the area that it was. The view from their rooftop tiki bar was spectacular! And the vibe was so great. They had a massive fan, and misters to keep everyone cool, which was definitely a plus in this 100+ Texas heat.y husband had some of their craft beer that was on tap, snd was pleased with what he ordered. I ordered their monthly special - the Pina Verde. ORDER IT!!! It was a Pina colada on the rocks with a minty, and slightly spicy flavor.
Apparently at 9:00, it’s ages 18+ only…so we left by 9. But I thought that was really nice for date nights and nights out with friends!
Overall - we seriously loved this spot. Make sure you check it out when you’re in the area. You’ll thank me later.😉
This place was so cool. It's $13.99 to get in. Unlimited games. They have so many pinball machines and shooting games and old school fighter games. They have DDR and ski ball and some other games. They have food and drinks and a bar. The staff is nice. It was a Saturday night and somehow wasn't too crowded. Street parking was hard to find but there is a parking garage behind the building for $10. I had an absolute blast. They had it decorated for Halloween with blacklights. It was a fun atmosphere.
Work hard play hard! This place was the perfect after-work getaway for me and the wife; we snuck in for an hour before picking up our kid from the babysitter… and I’m so glad we did 🙊 You pay a flat fee upon entry, then food and drinks are separate. I’m a fan of local brews and this place has them all on rotation and on full display! This is really a beer fan’s delight with small to large growler-takeout options if you don’t have time to hang out. The cocktails are themed, fun, and charming. Now for the games; there was a smash bros tourney going on in what looked like a daily ritual. Then around the corner is retro gaming paradise. All games were free with your initial entry fee and the selection was quite big. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the others. From new, old, to something different, they had it all!
This place is pretty cool. I knew it before as Live Oak, so I knew it had a gorgeous upstairs patio. The children aspect kind of weirded me out to be quite honest. We eventually just headed upstairs to the gorgeous view so we could talk.
This was a fun place to go. The biggest issue is how warm it gets in there, but we still stayed and played. We just took breaks in the main area.
TL;DR I'll definitely be back, this place is a lot of fun and has great drinks and service.
The bad: The parking is the worst part here, but it's the same for every business in this area. Be prepared that you will probably not be able to park right next to the building.
Now that's out of the way, I love this place and I hope more pop up. This location was clean, had a great selection of beers and other drinks and the staff was great. There are also places to set your drink next to every machine. It was a lot of fun.
Fun place to burn a few hours. Good location. Fair selection of games. The Denton location is much bigger while this one is noticeably smaller. Friendly employees. It can get a bit loud so bring airpods or other such items to drown out the noise.
Oh, let me tell you about this hidden gem called Free Play Arcade. It's like stumbling upon a forbidden treasure trove of pure joy, except instead of gold and rubies, it's overflowing with arcade games that make your heart race faster than a cheetah on steroids. And let me tell ya, folks, it's worth every penny of the $12 entrance fee.
Now, when I walked in, I was greeted by a smorgasbord of gaming options that would make a grown man weep tears of nostalgic joy. Seriously, it's like they took every arcade game from the '80s and '90s and said, "Hey, let's cram 'em all in here and blow everyone's mind!" And boy, did they succeed.
But let me get to the crown jewel of this fine establishment - the pinball games. Oh, baby! I could spend hours on those bad boys. The sleek design, the satisfying sound effects, the hypnotic lights... it's like being seduced by a seductive seductress, except without all the messy complications. Time just disappears when you're locked in a pinball battle, my friend. I swear, I blinked once, and an entire evening had vanished into thin air.
Now, here's the best part: I looked around, fully expecting to see a line of eager gamers waiting their turn to experience the pinball magic. But no! Nobody was behind me. It was like having a private party with me, myself, and I. So naturally, I took full advantage of the situation and continued my high-scoring spree, basking in the glory of my unopposed dominance. I felt like the king of the arcade, the pinball wizard, if you will.
And let me drop some knowledge on you: Tuesday evenings at Free Play Arcade are the stuff of legends. It's the perfect time to visit if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the weekend crowd. I mean, who needs a bunch of sweaty bodies jostling for a turn when you can have the place all to yourself? It's like having a private playground for the price of a couple of fancy coffees.
So, in conclusion, my fellow thrill-seekers, Free Play Arcade is the bee's knees, the cat's pajamas, the... well, you get the idea. It's an absolute blast, and if you have even a hint of love for classic arcade games, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. Go on a Tuesday evening, pay that sweet $12 entrance fee, and let the hours melt away in a pinball-induced trance. Trust me, you won't regret it. And if you do, well, I'm not responsible for your questionable life choices, pal.
Now go forth and game like you've never gamed before, my fellow adventurers!
